The 3D digital models on
this blog have been created by the blog author (unless otherwise stated),
Jacquelyn Graham, using the technique of photogrammetry/computer-vision.
This technique involves taking multiple digital photos of an object from
different angles and uploading them into computer-vision software that aligns
the images, generates a point cloud, generates a polygonal model, and builds a
texture map. Photogrammetric models can produce some abnormalities in the
geometry of the model, which are cleaned by the model author, who attempts to
remain as true to the physical form of the object as possible.
Jacqui, what software are you using to stitch the photos together?
ReplyDeleteI use Agisoft Photoscan which I have an educational license for, but in the later workshops the Quinhagak youth artists are going to be using 123D Catch.
