As we were waiting for some of our young filmmakers to arrive, we started with a warm up of pass the emotion. Some of which were caught on camera this time.

Since many of our young filmmakers have chosen to do interviews for their projects, next we practiced interviewing each other. Everyone had a chance to interview and be interviewed. This practice helped us to think about the background of our films... like are there other people in the shot, background noise, and how we should set up the camera. Everyone was pretty nervous to be the one interviewed, but it was a good reminder that the people we would be interviewing would be nervous too (even some of the elders).
The practice interviews, though scary at first, really got us excited and we started to call elders and family members to interview right away. The first interview took place at the end of the workshop today. Finally cameras were assigned to crew members who are responsible for them, then off our young filmmakers went into the community, filming the people of Quinhagak.
